Summary Close

Recap every agreed benefit in one short list before asking for the decision, so the value is front of mind.

So you get the faster turnaround you said you needed, the reporting your boss asked for, and the fixed monthly cost. Shall we set a start date?

The summary close gathers up everything the buyer has already agreed matters and plays it back as a short list right before the ask. It reminds them how much has stacked up on the yes side, so the decision is made against the full weight of value rather than the price alone.

To use it, tie the recap to what they told you, not to your feature sheet. “So you get the faster turnaround you said you needed, the reporting your boss asked for, and the fixed monthly cost. Shall we set a start date?” Keep it to three or four items they actually cared about; a long list dilutes it.

It works well at the end of a considered sale where several benefits have accumulated over the conversation. This is a standard closing technique with no single documented originator, so treat it as sales craft rather than a cited method.
