Post-Demo Recap Email

A same-day recap that restates value in the buyer's words and locks in the next step from the demo.

How it sounds

  1. You You mentioned {{TheirStatedProblem}} is costing you {{Impact}}.
  2. You Next step: {{NextStep}} on {{Date}}.
  3. Buyer (forwards it internally, using your own recap of their problem)
  4. Result The demo's value survives past the call, in writing, in their words

The script

Subject: Recap + next step from today

Hi {{FirstName}},

Good talking today. Quick recap so it's in writing:

- You mentioned {{TheirStatedProblem}} is costing you {{Impact}}
- We looked at {{FeatureShown}}, which addresses that by {{HowItHelps}}
- Next step: {{NextStep}} on {{Date}}

I'm attaching {{Attachment}} in case it's useful for your team.

Let me know if I got anything wrong above, and see you {{Date}}.

{{YourName}}

Replace the highlighted {{fields}} before you send it.

How to use it

A demo that goes well in the room can still fade fast, because the buyer has other calls that afternoon and nothing written down. The recap email fixes that by restating what they said mattered, in language close to their own words, tying it to what you showed, and naming the next step with a date rather than leaving it open.

Lead with their stated problem, not your feature list; a buyer forwarding this to a boss or colleague needs the business reason up top, the feature details are secondary. Keep it short enough to read on a phone. Attach one relevant piece of collateral, not a folder of everything you have, and reference it as optional so it does not read as a second pitch.

There is no single originator for this pattern; it reflects standard post-demo practice built on a simple fact: whoever the buyer forwards to next only sees your words, so those words need to carry the problem and the value cleanly on their own, without you in the room to explain them.
